ABOUT

KELLY

Passionate About Empowering Others

I live in We’koqma’q First Nation (Waycobah) and I'm married to my wonderful

husband Robert.  We have four awesome children (Jordynn, Kaylyn, Kassidy, &

Karmin) and one super amazing grandson Rory.  Since graduating from UCCB

(CBU) with a major in Psychology and a minor in Physical Education almost thirty

years ago, I have been actively working in the area of sport, recreation, healthy

living, and wellness.

In all of my jobs (both paid and volunteer), I have always enjoyed doing the best I

could to help others.  I have a passion for promoting holistic health, wellness, and

positive lifestyles, and have facilitated countless workshops that deal with these

topics.  I have also instructed numerous active living classes, such as yoga, chair

yoga, and low-impact aerobics,  which gives me the opportunity to motivate

participants to be active every day, and to have fun while doing it, while reaping all

the holistic benefits!

A few years back I became interested in learning even more about holistic wellness, and started a personal journey of studying alternative healing modalities that deal with the mind/body/spirit/emotion connection.  I am now a Certified Level ll Reiki practitioner, a Certified Yoga Instructor and Chair Yoga Instructor (so that I could share the immeasurable benefits of yoga with those who may have physical challenges preventing them from doing yoga on the floor), a Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant (RHN - graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Dartmouth, NS).  I am also a Registered Reflexology Therapist.  I have also taken Level 1, 2, and 3 Therapeutic Touch training, with certification pending completion of all requirements.  I became a Certified Life Coach, as well as Laughter Yoga leader.  Other training/certificates include Holistic Culinary Certificate Program, East Indian Head Massage, Hand Reflexology, and Introduction to Shamanism.  I have also attended many workshops and fairs that have provided me with even more teachings and understanding about how the mind, body, spirit and emotion work, and how making simple changes can create huge impacts in our lives.

I am also a former low-impact aerobics instructor, as well as a CanFitPro Personal Training Specialist.  However, I decided not to renew my certifications in these disciplines so I could focus more on my passion for helping others to live happier, healthier and more balanced lives through alternative forms of holistic healing, health and wellness.

I recently launched my own business in May of 2019 (“Kelly’s Holistic Healing”), with services being offered in Whycocomagh (at Essentially Yours, behind The Farmer's Daughter) and in Inverness (at Inverness Chiropractic, right next to the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital).  I hope to utilize all of the skills, training, education and experience I have gained over the years to assist and empower individuals as they embark on their own personal journeys towards health and wellness…a journey to a deeper place of peace, harmony and balance.
